Behaviour management

The science of behaviour has taught us that students are not born with bad behaviours and students will learn better ways of behaving when given positive feedback and consequences. To learn better ways of behaving students must be taught replacement behaviours. It is our role as educators at Biggenden State School to provide specific, positive feedback and opportunities for students to learn and practice appropriate behaviours in a variety of settings.

Positive Behaviour for Learning Program is used in conjunction with 'Play is the Way' to provide students with a broad range of strategies both individualised and systematic strategies to achieve important social and leaning outcomes.

At Biggenden State School we have worked collaboratively with all community members to establish a set of clear behavioural expectations. Big on heart, big on learning, big on respect and big on responsibility. We use a comprehensive collection of data to guide us in our goal to meet the behavioural needs of our students.
